Purple Reign

The Saskatoon Berries have painted the league purple.

The rapid ascent of the Berries in the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) saw the Saskatchewan squad capture the Harry Hallis Memorial Trophy as champions in just their third season of play.

They secured the title with a two-game sweep over the Sylvan Lake Gulls, which was punctuated with an 11-1 clinching victory at NexGen Patch at Cairns Field in front of a raucous record crowd of 2,579 fans.

WCBL Championship Preview

There is a changing of the guard in the Western Canadian Baseball League.

When the Harry Hallis Memorial Trophy is lifted at the conclusion of the 2026 WCBL Championship Series, one team – the Sylvan Lake Gulls or Saskatoon Berries – will be raising it for the first time in franchise history.

WCBL Division Final Preview

The final four is set.

Following the opening round of the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) Postseason, the top four seeds have advanced to the Division Final Series.

It will be Okotoks taking on Sylvan Lake while Moose Jaw battles Saskatoon.

Year of the Snakes
