2024 SDS All-College Team

What a year it was for Saskatchewan baseball products who took their talents south of the border for their collegiate endeavours.

Several took home big awards from their schools and regions, while others captured major conference awards.

Being the Culture

It is shaping up to be an experience the Regina Dusters won’t soon forget.

Created in 2020 to help give kids the chance to play baseball for a while longer, the Dusters have traveled to Las Vegas and Arizona for winter tournaments in the past.

But nothing will compare to what they have planned when the board the plane for Cuba in February 2025.

But Gordie Howe easily could’ve added the nickname “The Natural” for how he competed on the ball diamond, at the golf course and even in the bowling alley.

Such was the immense talent of the man who had broad enough shoulders to carry such accomplishments.

Some of the stories associated with his time in baseball are as legendary as his exploits at the rink.

When Aidan Marien isn’t collecting hits on the diamond, he is delivering them on the gridiron.

The Saskatoon product has succeeded at every step along the way.

He’s looking to take it to the next level after committing to Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.

Dominant John Donaldson

He was, in his prime, the best pitcher in the world.

In a playing career that covered more than three decades, John Donaldson traveled to hundreds of cities across North America, where he collected 413 wins and recorded 5,081 strikeouts.

Donaldson struck out more than 500 batters in three straight years and he registered 14 no-hitters, including one that dazzled baseball watchers in Saskatchewan.

Puhl Hall

Terry Puhl had a long and successful Major League Baseball career, but the highlight of his journey in the game ended up coming more than 30 years after his retirement.
